What is hypnosis?
One of the most common definitions that is used in the hypnosis field comes from the US Government. Hypnosis is the “bypass of the critical factor and the establishment of acceptable selective thinking.” In a way, the “critical factor” is your internal programming- your underlying (or subconscious) thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. In hypnosis, clients work with the hypnotist to understand these underlying thoughts, beliefs, and feelings driving the problem so that they can accept new thoughts, beliefs and feelings.
What is hypnotherapy?
Therapy is a method of helping people to move toward health and wholeness. Hypnotherapy is the process of using hypnosis to help people more toward health and wholeness.
Can I be hypnotized?
Yes, you can be hypnotized- if you want to! Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind- one that occurs more frequently than you realize. We generally say that anyone of normal intelligence who is willing to follow the hypnotist’s instructions can be hypnotized. LeAnn spends quite a bit of time on a client’s first session making sure that they are comfortable with the process, and then they are easily able be be hypnotized.
Are you going to make me bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken?
This is only done for the stage shows for etertainment with volunteers. LeAnn takes hypnosis seriously and she never attempts to do something the clients don't want and keep things professional during therapy session. The client has the ability to refrain from saying something during the session and also to wake up at will.
